Expert Witness Testimony

In legal cases, MTS can provide expert witness testimony and consultation in support of the laboratory or the plaintiff. Our expert witness services are science-based, and we have served both plaintiff and defense.  Importantly, confirmation of community standard of care for microbiology laboratory issues, endorsement of laboratory diagnostic services, and protocols in support of good medical care provide critical laboratory defense support. We accept cases of foodborne illness as well as those in support of laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and medical malpractice cases resulting from improper technical protocols, breaches in infection control, inappropriate specimen selection and management, and other alleged neglect.

As an expert witness retained by an attorney, we provide initial guidance regarding the scientific merit of a case, consultation on the technical details about the microbiology aspects of the case, advice and strategy on moving forward, and literature support.  We are experienced in depositions and are prepared to serve as expert witnesses in court or as consultants on cases.
